High Court of Balochistan
For law graduates in Balochistan, the biggest judicial opening of the year is now live. The High Court of Balochistan, Quetta, is recruiting 77 Judicial Magistrates-cum-Civil Judges in BPS-18 for the province’s district judiciary, and the application window stays open for months — a rare luxury in judicial recruitment. Both men and women holding a valid Balochistan local or domicile certificate can apply, but only through the court’s own online recruitment portal.
Last date to apply: 15 February 2027, before 11:59 PM through the official portal.

All 77 seats belong to a single recruitment for initial appointments in the Balochistan District Judiciary, governed by the Balochistan Judicial Officers Service Rules, 2021. The court may increase, decrease or cancel posts, and no travel allowance is admissible at any stage.
Eligibility — Two Routes Into the Same Post
Applicants must hold a recognised law qualification and then satisfy one of two professional experience routes. The routes are alternatives: a candidate needs to meet the conditions of their own route, not both.
- Education: A law degree from a university recognised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, or a Barrister qualification from England or Ireland.
- Route 1 — Practising advocates: At least two years of experience as an advocate or lawyer, with a valid Lower Court licence (and High Court licence where applicable) plus a fresh experience certificate from the relevant Bar Council.
- Route 2 — Serving Law Officers: A regular, full-time position in BPS-17 or above with at least two years of qualifying service, in roles such as Assistant, Deputy or District Attorney, Prosecutor, or an employee of a Superior Court, supported by a fresh service certificate or NOC from the head of department.
- Age: 23 to 35 years under Rule 13 of the 2021 Rules. Over-age applicants should read Rule 13 and the portal’s instructions carefully rather than assuming relaxation applies automatically.
- Domicile: A valid Balochistan local or domicile certificate is compulsory. Candidates from other provinces without it are not eligible.
An Unusual Requirement — Five Certified Judgments
Advocate-route applicants must also submit a list of at least five judgments in cases they personally conducted as counsel, certified by the relevant Presiding Officers. This is a substantive requirement, not a formality: candidates should start collecting certified copies early, because tracking down presiding officers for certification can take weeks. Serving Law Officers instead submit their service record and departmental documents.
Documents Checklist
- Verified educational testimonials from the concerned board or university

- Attested CNIC and a recent passport-size photograph
- Valid Lower Court licence (and High Court licence if held)
- Fresh Bar Council experience certificate (advocate route)
- Fresh service certificate or NOC, plus earlier appointment orders or notifications (Law Officer route)
- List of at least five certified judgments in personally conducted cases

Check the official portal for the applicable fee and payment instructions before submitting — and note that candidates who already applied and paid under the earlier round do not need to apply again.
Why This Recruitment Stands Out
Seventy-seven seats in one judicial recruitment is a large intake, and the four-month window gives candidates time to assemble the judgment record and domicile verification properly. Civil Judges and Judicial Magistrates handle the bulk of district-level civil and criminal work, so this intake will shape Balochistan’s lower judiciary for years.
