What the Role Involves
The Impaired Portfolio Management Wing handles accounts that have stopped performing — loans where repayments have slipped, businesses under stress, and cases that need restructuring, settlement or legal recovery. As Relationship Manager for the North region, you will own a portfolio of these accounts from Lahore and work them towards resolution. Your daily work will include:
- Managing a portfolio of impaired accounts in the North region and tracking each case towards recovery
- Contacting borrowers, understanding why repayments stopped, and agreeing realistic recovery plans
- Reviewing account files, securities and the legal status of each case before recommending action
- Working with the bank’s legal team on recovery actions, settlements and write-off proposals
- Preparing settlement and write-off proposals strictly as per bank policy
- Reporting recovery progress against targets and keeping portfolio records accurate and up to date
- Keeping relationships with clients firm but fair — recovery banking needs tact as well as toughness
Eligibility Criteria
Education: a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an HEC-recognised university. Candidates with an MBA, M.Com, ACCA, CA or another relevant professional qualification will be preferred, because the role involves reading financial statements, security documents and legal positions.
Experience: five to eight years of relevant banking or professional experience. Experience in recovery, remedial management, credit monitoring, corporate or SME lending will be directly relevant, since the wing deals with stressed accounts every day.
Skills: strong analytical and communication skills, leadership ability, a working knowledge of State Bank of Pakistan regulations and banking policies, and proficiency in MS Office and banking systems. You must be able to write clear proposals, negotiate with borrowers and defend your recommendations in front of a panel.
Other conditions: NBP is an equal opportunity employer. The bank reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning a reason, and no TA/DA is admissible for the test or interview.
Part of a Wider NBP Senior Hiring Round
This post is one of 11 senior positions NBP has opened at the same time across its Audit, Risk, HR, IT, Recovery and branch divisions — including a Branch Manager post, a Wing Head for Legacy Portfolio Management, Unit Heads for SME Bank & MIS, HR Information System and HR Analytics, a Unit Head for NOCs & Permissions, and a Regional SAM Coordinator for the Small & Medium Recovery Wing. All carry the same 6 November 2026 deadline and the same three-year renewable contract structure. This post focuses on the Impaired Portfolio Management Wing (North) in Lahore; it is a different recruitment from NBP’s Teller OG-III round and from the Aitemaad Islamic Banking Branch Manager round already covered on this site, so do not confuse the three — each has its own portal listing and its own deadline.
Why Apply for NBP Relationship Manager Jobs
Recovery and remedial banking is one of the fastest-growing specialisations in Pakistani banking, because every large bank now runs a dedicated stressed-assets function. A three-year AVP contract at the National Bank of Pakistan gives you a senior title, a market-competitive package and exposure to complex cases — restructurings, settlements, security enforcement and legal coordination — that branch banking rarely offers. The experience transfers directly to risk, remedial and corporate roles across the industry. Lahore as a base also puts you at the centre of the bank’s North region portfolio, with a large and varied caseload rather than a single branch’s book.
Documents Checklist
- Updated CV with full banking experience
