About PSEB and This Role
PSEB is the government body that promotes Pakistan’s information technology and IT-enabled services industry, including its export potential. A large part of that mission depends on people: whether universities and training providers are producing graduates that employers actually want, and whether Pakistani IT professionals can compete for work at home and abroad. The Director IT Skills Development sits at the centre of that work — designing the training roadmaps, skills frameworks and partnerships that turn a large graduate output into an industry-ready workforce.
This is a different post from PSEB’s earlier 2026 rounds. It is not the Creative Lead (PPS-08) post, not the Assistant Programme Manager / Research Consultant round, and not the July Chief Skills Development Officer round. The Director IT Skills Development reports to the Chief Skills Development Officer, which places it one level below that chief role and squarely in charge of the skills-development portfolio itself.
What the Director Will Actually Do
- Develop and put into practice IT skills development strategies for a globally competitive, industry-ready workforce.
- Design and coordinate industry-focused training programmes, including curriculum development and training quality.
- Build stronger partnerships between universities, technology companies and accreditation bodies.
- Work with the Higher Education Commission, federal and provincial institutions, and multinational IT firms.
- Lead job-readiness programmes for Pakistani IT professionals and support employer partnerships and international placement initiatives.
- Track training outcomes and workforce placement performance, and use that evidence to improve programmes.
- Develop policies and research that support workforce development, and coordinate with relevant ministries through the Chief Skills Development Officer.
Who Can Apply – Eligibility in Full
Education comes first: at least 16 years of education from an HEC-recognized national or international university or institution. The advertisement accepts degrees in information and communication technology, education leadership and management, management sciences, business administration, public policy, human resource management, project management, international relations, and related disciplines. Candidates from other disciplines may still apply if their professional experience directly matches the role — the advertisement explicitly leaves that door open, which matters for senior practitioners whose degree field differs from their career field.
Experience is the real filter. Applicants need at least 10 years of progressive, relevant post-qualification experience — meaning experience gained after completing the required qualification, not before it. Relevant experience includes IT workforce development, skills training programmes, academic training initiatives, digital education implementation, curriculum development, training programme management, and local or international workforce development projects. Preference goes to candidates who have worked on large-scale IT education or training programmes, designed IT training roadmaps or skills frameworks, built international placement partnerships, or worked with HEC, universities, government institutions, accreditation bodies, industry organizations or multinational IT firms.

Two points need honest handling. First, the advertisement does not specify a salary, pay scale or contract duration, so this post claims none — do not trust any third-party page that invents a figure for this post. Second, the vacancy count is not specified in the advertisement; it is presented as a single director post, and this post does not claim a seat number beyond that.

Why This Post Is Worth Your Attention
Senior roles that combine education policy, industry partnership and international placement are rare in Pakistan’s public sector, and this one carries real scope: the person hired will influence what IT graduates learn, how training providers are judged, and how Pakistani talent reaches international employers.
