Eligibility Criteria
Domicile: only candidates holding a domicile of Sindh Province are eligible. This is a firm condition across LUMHS faculty recruitments.
Senior Registrar (BPS-19): an MBBS with a postgraduate terminal qualification — MD, FCPS, PhD, M.Phil (old courses) or Membership of a Royal College or Diplomat of the American Board, or an equivalent international terminal qualification as determined by HEC — in the relevant clinical subject. No teaching experience and no research publications are required at this level, which makes it the entry route into university teaching for newly qualified specialists.
Associate Professor (BPS-20, Pharmacology): an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognised by PM&DC/PMC/HEC, with a Level III qualification in the relevant subject, plus teaching and research experience and research publications as required by HEC and PM&DC criteria for the rank. Candidates who do not meet the HEC criteria may still be considered under PMDC/PMC criteria for basic medical sciences, as the university’s own terms allow.
Professor (BPS-21, Pharmacology): the same qualification base as Associate Professor, with a longer record — 10 years of post-M.Phil teaching or research experience in an HEC-recognised university or postgraduate institution, and 15 research publications in HEC/PMDC-recognised journals, at least 5 of them in the last 5 years.
Across all posts: your basic degree must be registered and recognised by PM&DC/PMC/HEC, and a valid PM&DC/PMC registration certificate and a revised PMDC experience certificate must accompany the application. Government and semi-government employees must apply through the proper channel with departmental permission (NOC); without the NOC, the application will not be entertained, and a proper relieving order or resignation acceptance is mandatory before joining.
What the Roles Involve
- Senior Registrar: teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, running clinics, wards and operating lists in your specialty, and supporting consultants in patient care
- Professor / Associate Professor (Pharmacology): leading teaching in pharmacology, supervising postgraduate trainees and their research, and contributing to departmental academic programmes and examinations
- All faculty: upholding clinical, teaching and patient-care standards across the university’s hospitals and colleges, and taking part in academic and examination duties as assigned

Why Apply for LUMHS Jamshoro Jobs
LUMHS is the medical university of Jamshoro, running teaching hospitals and medical colleges that serve all of Sindh. A faculty post here combines the two things senior doctors usually have to choose between: a university teaching career and an active clinical practice. The Senior Registrar route is particularly valuable because it asks for no prior teaching experience and no publications — it is designed for specialists who want to move into teaching. The Pharmacology professor posts, on the regular BPS-20 and BPS-21 scales, offer the stability of a permanent university appointment with a research and postgraduate supervision role. For Sindh-domiciled doctors, this is one of the most respected academic appointments available in the province.
How to Apply
- Download the prescribed application form from lumhs.edu.pk, or collect it from the office of the Director Human Resources, LUMHS Jamshoro, on payment of Rs. 2,500 per post.
- Fill the form completely for each post you are applying for, and attach the fee (bank challan, pay order or bank draft as described above).
- Attach two sets of attested documents, photographs, PMDC registration, experience certificate and research publications.
- Write the name of the post clearly on the top-right of the envelope.
- Submit the bound application to the Registrar’s Office, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro, so it arrives on or before 10 November 2026.
Fraud Warning
Never pay anyone who promises you this job. The only genuine payment in this recruitment is the official Rs. 2,500 processing fee per post, paid through the prescribed bank challan or pay order in favour of the university. No agent, middleman or “consultant” can secure you a LUMHS post for extra money. Anyone asking for such a payment is running a scam. NIAMS Jobs never charges job seekers for any listing.
